Product Description

Digital meters are great. They can be extremely accurate, and extremely sexy. But there is still a need for a good analog meter, because there are times when a digital meter's accuracy gives you too much information.

For example, if you are monitoring phone line voltage or current, the slightest change will be indicated on the digital meter, and you'll have to read it and interpret it, even if the change is not significant.

Most of the time, you don't need to know if idle line voltage drops from 48.36 volts to 47.92 volts. With an analog meter set for 50 volts, as long as the needle stays close to full-scale, you know you're OK and can concentrate on other things. From Eclipse.

  • 18 ranges for voltage, current, resistance, capacitance, decibels, plus special 1.5V and 9V battery testing
  • Continuity testing with buzzer
  • Transistor and diode testing
  • Comes with batteries and test leads
  • Tilt-up stand
  • The manual sucks, but the meter is fine.
