60HZ hum from AC power lines can be extremely annoying, particularly on expensive audio-video systems. It can be very tough to find the source of the noise, and only the smartest geeks can make it go away.

Years ago, there was a cheap but effective trick to break the "ground loop": connect two 69-cent 75-ohm/300-ohm transformers back to back in the video feed.

Unfortunately, this trick is no good in the 21st century, where cable video signals cover much wider bandwidth.

Inexpensive transformers will reduce signal strength in higher-numbered channels, producing pixellated images, "hum bars," video distortion, or no image at all.

The HumBuster provides a transparent signal path for audio and video signals, and cable modems; while blocking the AC hum that can put noise in your speakers and and garbage on your screen.
