A great way to install phone jacks, data jacks, video connectors, volume controls -- any kind of low voltage device. Also known as "box eliminators." We used them in the new PhoneGeeks building.
Attaches easily to wood or metal studs.
You'll have much more space than with a regular electrical "junction box" and a much neater installation than with a "mud ring." There's LOTS of space to work with. The extra space means your wires won't get pinched, and you can maintain large-radius bends for Cat-5 data cabling, coax, or fiber optic cable.
Really great with thick multimedia cables.
Available in single or double-gang models. Works with 1/2" or 5/8" thick drywall. Designed for communication-grade low voltage conductors ("Type 2"). Permits the use of 3/4" EMT. Side support for a rigid installation. May be installed to the front or the side of a metal or wood stud. Eliminates bulges in the dry wall caused by plaster rings. Attaches with self-tapping screws or nails.
